Celebrate Seniors Week and Children's Week at QVMAG in fun and creative activity for grandparents and grandchildren.

Explore the art of printmaking in this intergenerational creative workshop.

In recognition of Senior's Week coinciding with Children's Week and to honour this year's theme, Connecting generations, this creative workshop gives grandchildren and grandparents the chance to create a beautiful artwork together.

You'll explore the Art Gallery at Royal Park to gather inspiration and collaborate to sketch your design. Tasmanian artist Emma Magnusson-Reid will guide you in using the tools and materials to create your printed artwork.

This workshop is perfect for grandparents looking to spend quality time with their grandchildren while exploring a new creative hobby. Don't miss this opportunity to connect, create, and take home a beautiful printmaking project you'll cherish.

About the workshop

  • Discounted tickets are available for Seniors with a valid Seniors Card - tickets will be available on our website from 9am on 1 August 2024.
  • This workshop is suitable for adults and children (8+) of all experience levels.
  • Children must be accompanied by an adult (up to 2 per adult).
  • The registration fee includes all materials.
  • The workshop's location is the Queen Victoria Art Gallery at Royal Park, 2 Wellington Street, Launceston.

About the artist

Emma Magnusson-Reid was born in the north-west of Tasmania where she was raised on a rural property. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Art in 2017 in Hobart and achieved First Class Honours in 2020, UTAS, Launceston.

Emma received the Salamanca Arts Centre’s Inaugural Emerging Arts Scholarship in 2017 and since has exhibited statewide, tutored in various institutions, and is currently the printmaking technician at the Academy of Arts, UTAS.

In 2021 she presented her solo exhibition From the Womb to the Tomb at the Burnie Regional Art Gallery. Emma lives and performs her arts practice from Beechford in the north-east of Tasmania.
